Alaska: Dogfight
As our ship, Spirit of Adventure, was pulling into Seward, we were granted one last gift of wildlife directly overhead: a bald eagle in an aerial dogfight with a group of Seward gulls. The eagle had a fish head clutched in its talons, complete with dangling piscine viscera. Fortunately, I still had my wildlife settings on my camera intact. All I had to do hold down the shutter in high burst and try my best to keep them in frame. Of course, I couldn’t choose just one, so here’s the full sequence.
