Wild, Wild Horses
Recently, my friend Jacob in Jackson Hole documented the brutality of the Bureau of Land Management wild horse roundup in Wyoming. These beautiful animals are terrorized by low-flying BLM helicopters, crammed into claustrophobic pens, and sold off to often-anonymous third parties for who knows what purpose. This is just BLM standard operating procedure for all the herds they manage, including Utah's Onaqui. After hearing Jacob's stories last time we were in Jackson, I was inspired to find my own local herd here in Utah and witness their beauty first hand again. I spent several hours just sitting cross-legged in the dirt, sharing the desert with the Onaqui herd.
Please take a moment and read Jacob's dispatch from the heartbreaking roundup he witnessed last month. More people should know about this.
